Spring Break is here!

Not only is it a beautiful day outside, but it’s also the last day of classes before spring break starts! With that being said, I’m sure everyone is anticipating sleeping in, going on vacation, spending time with friends and family, and complete relaxation.

Although having fun during spring break seems to be the only thing on your minds right now, it is important to actually set aside “you time” to rest and take a break from the stress of college.

It is also a good idea to get any homework done that is due the week classes start back up while you are home. Manage your time and prioritize. It’s best to get homework done before you get home or this weekend, and then you will have an entire week to sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself.

This break is much needed, so please have an awesome time, and make it a safe one!

The Day of Love!

video

It’s Almost Valentine’s Day!

Cupid will be fluttering around Rowan with his bow and arrow in just a few days for Valentine’s Day. Whether you have a valentine or not, you still have time to make some special v-day plans!

Valentine’s Day symbolizes love. Although it should be shown throughout the year, February 14th was selected out of 365 days, which means it’s THE significant day to show family, friends, or a partner how much they mean to you. That’s right ladies, this is not only our day to be spoiled with chocolates, flowers, stuffed animals, and jewelry. We also need to express our love to those around us this Valentine’s Day. It’s time for a change!

Did you ever think about giving chocolates and flowers to someone else? Instead of expecting something, perhaps give something from the heart. For example, you can write your loved one a poem because no store bought gift can compare to sincere words from the heart. Or you can cook a special dinner and rent a movie; although this is something simple, the little things are what matter most.

Try to do something different this year that the person you spend this day with wants to do, because Valentine’s Day is not all about us. Hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day with the ones you love!

Happy Holidays from the Chamberlain Student Center

The excitement of the holidays is something that we all have been anticipating and after overcoming a stressful semester, we could all use some down time to just relax and catch up with our loved ones.

With that being said, in just 11 days, the fall semester will be officially over, which means there’s only 16 days until Christmas and 23 days until the New Year!

Just think, in less than two weeks you will be back at home catching up on sleep, eating home cooked meals, watching daytime television, sipping hot cocoa, opening presents on Christmas, bringing the new year in with family and friends, and anything else that your heart desires.

To top that of, you won’t have any assignments to do, and your brain can finally take a break to recuperate for next semester!

Although you still have to get through finals week, the holidays are something positive to look forward to when the pressure of finals gets you down.

This holiday season is a time to be merry, not stressed, and the Chamberlain Student Center wishes you the best of luck with your finals. Happy Holidays!
