On Tuesday, November 8, classes will not be in session, and the campus will be closed; however, this is not a time to catch up on sleep, hang out with friends, or be unproductive. It’s Election Day, so this means you should go out and vote, and let your voice be heard!
Time and time again, our generation makes excuses when it comes to voting. This is unacceptable because we are the future, and the decisions that are made now will ultimately affect us the most.
Obama once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Instead of sitting around and complaining about elected officials not properly doing their jobs, get up and do something about it! The people who are selected for office have a major impact on our lives. They make decisions regarding health care, education, taxes, social security, and the list goes on and on, which is why it is imperative to take just a few minutes of your time to cast your vote.
Your vote can make a difference, but before you go out to the polls it is a good idea to do a little research on the candidates who are running before you make any rash decisions. You should also make sure that you are registered to vote and if you are not, please visit http://vote-nj.org/ as soon as possible. This website offers useful information pertaining to the election such as who is running, how to register, past elections, and various information to help you make the right choice.
Please let your voice be heard this upcoming Election Day!
